Home Solutions Freezer alarm

Freezer alarm

For a freezer, everything depends on the probe. HW group's IP67 probe stops at -10 °C, so it is not suitable for frozen storage.

What accuracy can you expect at -18 °C?

At around -18 °C, the Flat and Outdoor probes have a stated accuracy of ±2 °C. That is useful for an alert, but not sufficient, without verification, for a regulatory record.

In some cases of transporting, warehousing and storing quick-frozen food, Regulation (EC) No 37/2005 requires instruments that comply with the standards it cites. We do not claim that compliance. Read the text.

Check the probe supplied in the set as well: for a freezer, add a suitable probe and let us know when you order.

Frequently asked questions

Will the cable fit through the freezer door?

HW group's Flat probe has a flat cable designed to pass under a door seal. For any other probe, check the cable route before you order.

Which probe comes with HW group sets?

The STE2 LITE comes with a 1 m probe, the STE2 R2 with a 3 m IP67 probe, and the NB-2x1Wire and ARES12 LTE Set with a 3 m probe. The IP67 probe stops at -10 °C, so for frozen storage you need to add a Flat or Outdoor probe.
