What it is for

Receiving an SMS or a call from an STE2 LITE or R2

A standalone device with no local network: choose the ARES12 LTE Set instead, which sends its own SMS messages
Efento sensors or the LoRaWAN pack, which go through their own platform
A power cut: without a UPS, the gateway and the network stop

What to know before you buy

The SIM card is not included: you need a SIM with an SMS plan, and voice calls if you want them.
The gateway and the device must be on the same local network.
Check mobile coverage where the antenna will go. The 3 m cable lets you place it away from the gateway.

This system monitors and alerts. It does not control your refrigeration or replace your system's own probe. It does not by itself deliver HACCP, EN 12830 or GDP compliance, and your food safety plan remains your responsibility. An alert needs a network, a power supply and someone to receive it, so test it when the system is installed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need one gateway per STE2?

No. Several HW group devices on the same network can share one gateway and one SIM, and each one sends its alerts to its own numbers.

Do I need any software?

No. The device talks directly to the gateway over the local network, and you set them up through their web pages.

Does it work if the internet is down?

Yes, according to HW group, if the local network still has power, because the message goes out over the mobile network. For a power cut, you need a UPS for the device, the network and the gateway.

How much does an STE2 with the gateway cost?

€703.50 excl. VAT with an STE2 LITE and €763.50 excl. VAT with an STE2 R2, excluding delivery and your SIM plan.
